boogaloo - kyle

so latley ive gotten the urge to buy a shitty camera. its either gonna be a holga or a lomo. i had this same urge about a year ago, but i was able to fight it off. not so sure if i can this time. from what ive seen i think i like the images that the lomos usually produce, but id prefer the holgas medium format. on the coolness/stupidness scale, the holgas got a plastic lens (seriously, who buys the holga with the glass lens) but the lomos are made in mother russia (well, mother china now, so i guess they just roll communist) and are made of solid metal. oh and the lomos viewfinder is slightly less unusable than the holgas, so i guess thats a plus. so what do you guys think? any one want to buy a holga and ill buy a lomo or vice versa and just trade off? is any one reading this? do i have a stupid camera fetish (dont think ive forgotten about you olympus pen half frame camera)? am i the only one that has the singing skittles rabbit commercial looping on youtube? its late, theres a 5hr time difference...you guys do the math.

the picture. its my best crack at getting a lomo look. let me know what you think about the actual picture itself, cause it might just be stupid and i dont know it. aaron and i were talking about that, what makes a picture good. neither of us knew. so chime in with any answers if you got em. fuck im tired. off to bed. nighty night.

ps. been processing a shitload of film, ill scan and post em sometime when im feeling productive.

I enjoy the minimalism of this pic accompanied with the nice color blending... so yeah this pic is pretty sweet... Also I'm very pissed that you get to develop so much film but next semester in our house there will be a dark room. I bought Gen's canon film body and my new wide angle is interchangeable between that and my digital so I'm ready to start shooting I just have no way of developing as of now

joe. image finishers is still pretty cheap until we can get a darkroom set up, just make just if you get scans to check that theyre the res you want because i asked for high res once and got files that were like 1500px wide jpegs. not exactly the best res, but im sure it was a misunderstanding. southeast camera supply has used dark room equip so start pricing some, im curious. having a darkroom is gonna kickass.

aaron. a) it was some zip filed i downloaded with like 10 sloppy borders, ill send it to you on im sometime. b) thanks, im glad im not completley crazy. c) lomo is like 200-250 new from lomography.com, holgas like 25 bucks maybe. post up those brownie pics, dont think im not gonna hijack that thing when i get back. and when the hell are you ever near a scanner if you dont own one?

Dude I like this A LOT. Colours really complement each other, there#'s a great sense of texture, it's a nice crop and a well-suited frame. Good job.
